Job Summary
Set up and operate manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes, punch presses, riveters, wire benders, and wire straighteners according to production schedules and work instructions. Review work orders and production routers to determine tooling and machine setup requirements, then perform first-piece inspections and routine quality checks using precision measuring instruments. Read blueprints and manufacturing specifications to verify dimensional accuracy and complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately. Identify quality issues or equipment concerns to communicate with supervisors, assist with material handling, and maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of manufacturing, machine operator, or production experience
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery and equipment
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience operating CNC machines
- Experience operating press brakes or punch presses
- Metal fabrication experience
- Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience
- Quality inspection experience
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
