Job Summary
Deliver and lead a Forensic Toxicology course (36L) in-person for the UTM program, September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026, with 40 estimated enrolment and up to 60 TA hours. Responsibilities include preparation and delivery of course material, assignments, tests and exams; supervising teaching assistants and providing instruction on marking; submitting grades to university officials; and maintaining regular office hours. Required expertise includes pharmacokinetics, analytical techniques, and quality assurance measures used in forensic toxicology, plus knowledge of the effects of drugs, alcohol and poisons in medicolegal contexts and post-mortem toxicology. Desirable qualifications include experience as an expert witness in a Canadian court of law and familiarity with teaching platforms such as University of Toronto systems, Quercus, Canvas, and Zoom. Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. (completed or ABD with active student status at issuing institution) in Chemistry or Toxicology, or at minimum an Honours Bachelor of Science with 5+ years’ experience in a forensic toxicology lab. Experience in the field of Forensic Toxicology or equivalent; and experience teaching toxicology courses is required.
