Job Summary

Deliver in-person course on forensic science within the law in Canada. Prepare and deliver course material, assignments, tests and/or exams; supervise teaching assistants (including instruction on marking and holding office hours); mark students’ work and submit grades; and maintain regular office hours. Required knowledge includes evidence law, expert evidence, and the role of forensic sciences in the criminal justice system. Preferred skills include teaching experience in higher education, familiarity with Ontario’s criminal justice system, and proficiency with university systems (Quercus, Canvas, Zoom). The position emphasizes in-person instruction and adherence to the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. (completed or ABD with active student status at issuing institution) in Law or closely related topic, or completed law degree (LLB/JD or LLM) with practice experience in criminal law, including with respect to trial and/or appellate work involving evidence law, expert witness evidence and the forensic sciences.
  • If co-teaching, both instructors must meet the minimum qualifications.
