Job Summary
Delivery and assessment of a Forensic Science course at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Responsibilities include preparation and delivery of course material, assignments, tests and exams; supervision of teaching assistants (including instruction on marking and holding office hours); submission of grades to university officials; and maintaining regular office hours. Course mode is in-person with potential advance notice if changes occur. Preferred qualifications include experience as an expert witness in Canadian courts, teaching experience, mastery of the subject area, and familiarity with university systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas, Zoom). The role requires overseeing course delivery for a 24L, 12S format and coordinating TA support, under CUPE 3902 Unit 3 terms and collective agreements. Ability to apply regulatory and accreditation knowledge within a postsecondary setting is essential.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD (completed) in any sub disciplines of Forensic Science (e.g.: Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry or Psychology), or at minimum an Honours Bachelor of Science with 10+ years’ experience working in a forensic science laboratory. Familiarity with regulatory policies and procedures for ensuring forensic lab accreditation is required.
