Job Summary
Teach In-person Sessional Lecturer course on Forensic Anatomy, covering human gross anatomy, histology, forensic pathology perspectives, and related topics such as autopsy procedures, fingerprinting, and forensic imaging. Deliver lectures and practicals on a weekly schedule (Sept 1, 2026 – Dec 31, 2026) at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Manage course duties including preparation and delivery of material, assignments, tests/exams, grading, and supervising teaching assistants; provide regular office hours. The course may be co-taught; salary is per CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement, with rates varying by rank (Lecturer I–III) and adjusted per teaching load. Preference given to senior ranks; familiarity with university systems (Quercus, Canvas) and Zoom is desirable. In-person delivery is the default mode; coordination with department manager and application via the specified portal/email is required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of medical degree (MD, MD-CM, or MBBS) and currently an active member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, or a PhD (completed or ABD with active student status at issuing institution) in Forensic Anthropology (or closely related field).
- Experience, knowledge and specialized training in human anatomy and/or pathology is required; 5+ years of forensic casework is essential; demonstrated excellence in course subject matter; knowledge and experience in Canadian-based death investigations.
- If co-teaching, both instructors must meet the minimum qualifications.
