Job Summary
Duties include preparation and delivery of course material, assignments, tests/exams, and practicals; supervision of teaching assistants; grading and submission of grades; and maintaining regular office hours. The mode of instruction is in-person with potential for co-teaching; assignment of teaching load may be divided between instructors. Preferred candidates have a forensic science background, casework experience, and familiarity with university teaching technologies (e.g., Quercus/Canvas, Zoom). The role requires delivering a forensic chemistry course focused on analytical techniques for evidentiary analysis (drug/alcohol analysis, gunshot residue, explosives, paint analysis) and interpreting analytical results in a forensic context. Additional considerations include teaching excellence, ability to manage course delivery, and engagement with equity-deserving groups as applicable. Required Qualifications
- A PhD (completed) in Chemistry or closely related field, or at minimum an Honours Bachelor of Science with 10+ years’ experience working as a forensic chemist or forensic toxicologist
- Extensive experience in the field of Forensic Chemistry or equivalent; and experience teaching chemistry courses
