Job Summary
Teach a university credit acting course (Sessional Lecturer DRE201H5F Acting) including preparation and delivery of course content, development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams, holding regular office hours, and supervising TAs if applicable. Engage students in text analysis, collective creation, storytelling, and a range of acting exercises to cultivate transferable skills such as interpersonal and presentation abilities. Course schedule: Fridays 9-10, LEC0101, with approximately 100 students; session runs Sept 8–Dec 31, 2026. Emphasis on practical introduction to performance, with strong teaching effectiveness and currency in subject matter; preference given to advanced ranks per CUPE 3902 Unit 3 agreement.
Required Qualifications
- MFA in Acting or Theatre Direction with a specialization in teaching acting for non-specialist at the university level
- strong record of directing and/or acting, and/or collective creation
- demonstrated teaching ability
- evidence of currency in subject matter
