Job Summary
Session Lead/Instructor for Udacity Connect sessions, part-time external contractor. Responsible for weekly Zoom sessions with Nanodegree students, creating the Udacity Connect session agenda and notes, coordinating between students and the Udacity Connect team, and reporting attendance and observations. You will be present at every Connect session, help students introduce themselves, organize groups, and keep time. You will explain Nanodegree concepts when needed and answer questions, while reporting progress to the Mentor's dashboard and communicating with students on Slack. Expect roughly 10 hours of student study per week, with weekly check-ins on progress. Required to have English fluency, 2+ years of relevant security experience (OWASP vulnerabilities, secure coding, SAST), and skills in penetration testing, secure system design, authentication/authorization, and security reporting. A Cybersecurity Nanodegree graduate is a plus; teaching and public speaking experience, strong interpersonal skills, student-first mindset, and proactive, innovative approach to helping students are essential. Remote, part-time contractor role with Udacity Connect duties and compensation varies by factors including location, role, and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English both written and spoken
- 2+ years of working experience related to the below skillsets
- Proficiency in the OWASP vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, and experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools
- Ability to conduct penetration tests, identify system vulnerabilities, and implement remediation strategies, aligning with current industry demands
- Experience in designing secure systems, implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, and developing tools to monitor and counteract security breaches
- Capability to convey complex security concepts clearly, write effective security reports
- Graduate from Cybersecurity Nanodegree Program is an added plus
- Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to lead a group of students
- Students-oriented mindset and focus on understanding their problems
- Innovative approach and proactivity with students that need help
- Positive character, trusted by the students, creating emotional ties in the group
- Existing tech network and experience in technical conversations & discussions
- Flexibility at their current job to take this challenge as a part-time, external contractor
