Job Summary
Execute assignments according to GE EHS and Quality requirements while leading and supervising repair jobs at customer sites. Perform in-situ machining operations including milling, boring, flange facing, drilling, grinding, and turning on gas and steam turbine components. Operate portable boring bars and machining equipment for precise work on turbine casings, bearing housings, and diaphragms. Conduct gas turbine casing and steam turbine diaphragm alignment using laser or dial indicator techniques to ensure proper fit and restore concentricity. Complete all pre-job planning and post-job reporting, fulfilling customer needs including machine preparation and part ordering. This role requires 90% global travel on short notice, including weekends and holidays, with a Bachelor's degree and three years of power generation equipment experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field from an accredited university or college, or a high school degree with relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience on power generation equipment with experience on GE/Alstom and OEM Turbines machining and repair
- Experienced in GT casing alignments, ST TOTO alignments, coupling honing, bore plug repair, and various other GT/ST machining and repair scopes
- Willing to train other persons according to the requirements (OJT)
- Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and work in a team of Onsite Service Crew
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to understand/read technical work instructions in English
- This position requires 90% travel for work globally on short notice and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays
