Job Summary
Perform prep work for painting tasks, general maintenance, refurbishment, and sheetrock repairs. Operate MARTA maintenance vehicles with manual transmissions and painting support equipment including stripping machines, man-lifts, and bucket trucks. Load, tow, and transport equipment on trailers. Requires a Commercial Driver's License or CDL permit with written exam passed, obtainable within 90 days of employment. No DUI violations in the last 5 years. Must pass physical exam, alcohol and drug screen, and meet DOT physical certification requirements. Salary $27.86. Position is safety sensitive in a drug-free workplace.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of ninth grade or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to operate painting support equipment, to include stripping machine, man-lifts, bucket trucks, etc.
- Ability to load, tow and transport equipment on trailers
- 3 years of verifiable commercial painting experience
- Commercial Driver's License or minimally possess a CDL permit (successfully have passed the written portion of the CDL exam)
- Ability to obtain CDL license within 90 days following employment
- No DUI violations within the last 5 years
- Ability to move and lift various materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs
- Walk or stand up to 6 hours per shift
- Sit for up to an hour per shift (including breaks, lunch, etc.)
- Ability to kneel, squat, stoop, or bend to perform tasks
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to frequently reach from floor to overhead level
- Ability to frequently bend forward at the lower back to perform tasks
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and powered tools
- Pass a physical examination including alcohol and drug screen
