Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow configurations, custom applications, and automated workflows across ITSM, Service Catalog, and third-party integrations using REST/SOAP services. Build advanced catalog items with client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer automations while executing unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure zero-defect deployments. Maintain update sets, release documentation, and technical design records, then participate in client calls and technical design discussions to translate business requirements into actionable solutions. Mentor developers and oversee release management, peer reviews, and governance checks for architect-level roles. Identify risks and design gaps early in the development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience developing and configuring on the ServiceNow platform (5+ years for Developer; 8+ years including lead or architect-level experience for Architect)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- At least one Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification — ITSM preferred
- Strong scripting ability (server-side and client-side JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes)
- Experience building Service Catalog items, workflows, and integrations
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and functional teams
- Active Top Secret clearance, or willingness to be sponsored/upgraded to Top Secret
- Only applicants within commuting distance to Washington, DC will be accepted
- U.S. citizenship may be required for certain positions
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in federal or defense contracting environments
- Experience with release coordination, version control, and automated testing strategies
- Hands-on proficiency with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF)
- For senior/architect candidates: experience mentoring developers and representing technical solutions in client-facing discussions
