Job Summary
Install and remove overhead services, connect and disconnect underground lines, and operate line and transformer fuses and switches. Perform work trouble calls and make emergency repairs on energized secondary and de-energized primary conductors and equipment, including climbing wood poles, operating bucket trucks, and executing pole top rescues. Maintain valid Driver's License and work weekends, evenings, and holidays in all weather conditions. Requires 2 years of electric distribution experience, ability to work on energized low voltages up to 600 volts, and fluency in English.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years minimum electric distribution service or construction experience
- Qualified to work on energized low voltages of up to 600 volts without direct supervision
- Ability to climb wood poles
- Ability to operate a bucket truck
- Ability to perform pole top rescues
- Ability to follow all safe work practices
- Ability to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English
- High level of attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude
- Computer literacy
- Availability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
- Valid Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of meter service construction specifications for all voltage up to 600 volts
- Knowledge and understanding of single phase and three phase low voltage and metering specification
- State wide travel
- Class A CDL
