Job Summary
Service Writer role based in Yarmouth, ME, reporting to the Service Manager. Responsibilities include following safety policies, consulting with customers to educate them about vehicle condition based on MPI inspection, achieving strong customer engagement via VIP processes, and supporting the team to deliver high-quality customer experiences. Duties include completing LMS and vendor training, achieving required certifications (BATS, TPMS, ASE), effective internal communication, coordinating with the service team, managing workflow and dispatch using the first-available technician approach, and maintaining a clean, safe service environment. The position requires daily participation in team meetings, adherence to the Code of Ethics and applicable regulations, and ongoing participation in safety and operational procedures. The work week is 5 days and 40 hours per week with hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid driver’s license in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Understanding of automotive servicing and industry
