Job Summary
Service Writer at VIP in Topsham, ME, accountable for delivering an exceptional customer experience by consulting with customers, educating them on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, and coordinating with the team to uphold VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include safety compliance, information sharing, learning VIP processes, completing LMS and vendor trainings, achieving high customer engagement scores, coordinating with technicians on work orders, maintaining a clean and compliant service environment, and participating in regular store meetings. Requires automotive knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, ASE certifications are preferred, and a valid state driver’s license. The role is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a 40-hour workweek; two-year college study is recommended.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
