Job Summary
The Service Writer role focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience by consulting with customers about their vehicle conditions per MPI inspections, educating them on VIP processes, and coordinating with the service team to achieve high-performance results. Responsibilities include promoting safety, communicating effectively with the team, managing service desk activities, assisting with LMS and vendor trainings, obtaining ASE-related certifications (C1, P2, G1), participating in the 5 for 5 process to educate customers on vehicle conditions, and ensuring proper dispatching of work orders to technicians while maintaining a clean, compliant service environment.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification (general)
- Knowledge of automotive servicing and the industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organization and time management skills
