Job Summary
The Service Writer engages customers at VIP Automotive, advising on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, and delivering VIP processes to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Responsibilities include consulting with customers, educating them on vehicle conditions, achieving above-average customer engagement measured by VIP SAX scores, coordinating with the Service Manager, completing LMS and vendor trainings, and pursuing ASE, BATS, and TPMS certifications along with ongoing facility and process maintenance. The role emphasizes effective communication, teamwork, safety, and adherence to service codes of ethics, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
