Job Summary
The Service Writer in Farmingdale, ME assists the Service Manager in delivering VIP customer experiences by consulting with customers on vehicle conditions, educating them on inspections and maintenance results, and guiding the service process. Responsibilities include engaging customers to build relationships, adhering to VIP programs and standards, completing LMS and vendor trainings, achieving strong customer engagement scores, coordinating with technicians to assign work orders, and maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant service area. The role requires strong communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and the ability to work with the team to execute service processes, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week. Certifications and licenses listed in the qualifications are required or recommended as part of ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
