Job Summary
The Service Writer role in Calais, ME focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience by consulting with customers, educating them about vehicle conditions, and coordinating with the Service Manager to execute VIP programs and standards. The position requires engaging customers, communicating effectively with the team, participating in LMS/vendor trainings, earning and maintaining relevant ASE certifications (C1, P2, G1), and assisting with the dispatch and assignment of work orders to technicians. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to service codes of ethics, and maintaining a clean, compliant service environment, including facility and equipment upkeep, daily pre-opening preparation, and participation in regular meetings and huddles to drive performance.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
