Job Summary
Service Writer at VIP Auto Service in Brunswick, ME focuses on consulting with customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI results, educating them on recommendations, and delivering a high-quality customer experience. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, effective communication, and executing VIP processes. Responsibilities include coordinating with service managers, completing LMS and vendor trainings, obtaining certifications (T.I.A. BATS, TPMS, ASE), prioritizing safety, managing work orders and dispatching to technicians, maintaining facility and equipment, and ensuring compliance with service codes and regulations. The job requires strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, automotive knowledge, and a valid driver’s license, with a typical schedule of 5 days and 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
