Job Summary
Service Writer at VIP in Brookline, MA focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience by consulting with customers about their vehicle conditions, educating them on MPI inspection results, and coordinating with the service team to execute VIP processes and standards while maintaining a safe, organized service area. Responsibilities include taking LMS and vendor trainings, pursuing ASE-related certifications (C1, P2, G1), facilitating communication between customers and technicians, managing service desk activities, and supporting the service manager to achieve performance targets. The role requires adherence to safety policies, multi-tasking across scheduling and dispatching, and regular participation in team meetings, with typical 40-hour, 5-day work weeks and non-exempt hourly status.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication; Strong organization and time management; Comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
