Job Summary
Service Writer at VIP Automotive in Brewer, ME, reporting to Service Manager. The role focuses on consulting with customers, educating them about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, and delivering a superior service experience. Responsibilities include achieving strong customer engagement per VIP SAX scores, learning and executing VIP processes, completing LMS and vendor trainings, achieving certifications (T.I.A BATS, TPMS, ASE), effective team communication, managing scheduling and work orders, maintaining service desk operations, and ensuring facility and equipment readiness. The position requires adherence to the service Code of Ethics and regulatory procedures, with a standard 5-day week and 40 hours. Ideal candidates have automotive servicing knowledge, strong communication and organizational skills, and relevant ASE and state certifications.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1– Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
