Job Summary
Service Writer responsibilities include delivering VIP customer experiences by consulting with customers on vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, educating customers on vehicle status, and coordinating with the team to execute VIP programs and standards. The role emphasizes safety, effective communication, and teamwork, with duties spanning LMS and vendor trainings, certifications (BATS, TPMS, ASE), and proactive engagement to educate customers about vehicle conditions and recommended solutions, while managing service desk operations, dispatching work orders to technicians, and ensuring facility and procedure compliance. The position requires strong verbal/written communication, organizational skills, automotive knowledge, and a valid driver's license, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organization and time management skills
- A comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
