Job Summary
Service Writer position in Belfast, ME focused on consulting with customers about vehicle conditions, educating them on vehicle status based on MPI inspection, and delivering a high-quality customer experience aligned with VIP processes. Responsibilities include safety compliance, facilitating communication within the team, training through LMS and vendor programs, pursuing ASE and TPMS certifications, managing service dispatching for technicians, maintaining facility and equipment standards, and adhering to service ethics and regulatory requirements. Standard schedule is 5 days/40 hours per week; required qualifications include automotive service experience, ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and relevant inspections/licenses.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- ASE Certification renewals and ongoing training as applicable
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team
- Knowledge of automotive servicing and industry practices
