Job Summary
Service Writer supports the Service Manager by generating quotes, opening and tracking work orders, maintaining customer data, and ensuring efficient workflow for technicians. Responsibilities include handling customer inquiries, providing repair status updates, preparing estimates, selling service labor and parts, enforcing service processes, ensuring accurate billing, and supporting continuous process improvements. Requires knowledge of John Deere products, basic accounting/computer skills, strong customer relationships, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; extended hours during busy seasons. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in both office and shop environments. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
