Job Summary
Provide technical expertise for off-site roadside breakdowns and repairs, troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical issues on tractors and trailers, identifying root causes, and guiding drivers on next steps for major repairs. Maintain OEM parts knowledge, track parts and work orders, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support yard operations while handling on-call weekend shifts and after-hours when needed. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, repair execution, equipment optimization, and collaboration within a safety-conscious shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of heavy equipment/mechanic related experience
- Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills
- valid drivers license
- ability to read and understand repair manuals
- ability to fill tags and repair orders
- ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers
- may be required to acquire and maintain a Class A commercial driver's license (based on service truck set-up)
- High School Diploma GED or graduation from trade/technical school preferred
