Job Summary
Traffic Signal Groundman in Anaheim, CA, responsible for assisting with installation and maintenance of cables, fibers, and cameras for traffic signals and street lights, collaborating with engineering technicians, and performing outdoor work with potential overtime. Requires background in electrical work or road construction, ability to operate hand tools and a hydraulic bucket truck, aptitude for reading blueprints, and willingness to work in varying outdoor conditions. Candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet DOT requirements; IMSA certifications are preferred. The role involves physical tasks, frequent outdoor activity, and travel between job sites within the region, with potential night/weekend/on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Minimum 3 years’ recent and verifiable experience as a Traffic Signal Technician
- Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- IMSA Level II or III Certification is highly preferred
- IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification or equivalent is highly preferred
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical exam and drug test, have a valid driver's license, and insurance
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Must be able and willing to work at heights typically associated with installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signals and streetlights
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Must adhere to environmental, health and safety regulations, work procedures and guidelines
