Job Summary
Perform field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers at customer locations. Use test equipment to determine machine conditions, examining operating cycles for vibration, overheating, leaks, and loose parts. Disassemble units to inspect mechanical and electrical components, replacing defective parts like switches, pumps, bearings, and motors. Reassemble appliances, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts. Maintain company vehicles and manage replacement part stocks. Contact apartment managers and customers to ensure good relations and advise dispatch on equipment needing replacement. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, driving record, and bilingual communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Good driving record
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Must possess effective English communication skills (oral and written)
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience
- Electrical knowledge and/or training
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck
- Must possess a valid driver's license (implied by driving requirement and drug testing clause)
- Must be able to submit to drug testing after receiving an offer of employment
