Job Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for high quality repair of equipment, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining detailed records. The role involves servicing, repairing, and reconditioning equipment, diagnosing problems, ordering parts, and performing inspections. Candidates must have an Associate degree in a relevant field and 1 year of technician experience in heavy or industrial equipment, with a requirement to achieve Vermeer Technician Certification within six months. Skills in hydraulic systems, electronics, and mechanical aptitude are necessary. A valid driver’s license and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Applied Science, Diesel Mechanics, Diesel Technology, or related field
- 1 year of technician experience in heavy equipment or industrial equipment industry
- Vermeer Technician Certification required within 6 months of start date
- Valid unrestricted Driver’s License
- Background check, pre-employment drug testing, and clean driving record required
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual a plus
- Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite, CDK a plus
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to be exposed to extreme weather elements
- Ability to withstand moderate to high noise level in working environment
- Regular attendance is required
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
