Job Summary
Perform service calls at customer locations to repair batteries, chargers, and battery handling equipment in a timely manner. Ensure work orders are filled out properly, convey all information to the proper contact to ensure customer satisfaction, and actively promote point of sale items and allied products. Operate company vehicles safely and maintain the service vehicle in good working order while practicing safety and good housekeeping at all sites. Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of competitor's equipment, pursue new accounts, and qualify whether services are warranty or billable. This home-based role requires travel to customer sites in the Lancaster, PA area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one (1) to two (2) years of battery industry or related experience
- Forklift Training Certification or ability to obtain
- Usage of standard shop tools
- Good understanding of basic electricity/electronics
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical manuals
- Excellent communication and customer satisfaction skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to train new personnel and provide technical assistance where needed
- Ability to calculate prices accurately when quoting estimates or completion of the work order for billing purposes, such as adding, subtracting, percentages and volume
- Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Ability of work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple projects and plan special projects
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to regularly lift a minimum 30lbs on a daily basis
- Ability to regularly lift 31 to 150lbs with assistance of equipment on a daily to weekly basis
- Regular use of safety glasses
