Job Summary
Perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned self-propelled sprayers and spreaders. Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products while participating in required Service EDUCATE Training programs. Complete all reports, forms, and timecards; account for all material used. Maintain proper condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in a clean, orderly fashion. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Work outside of normal business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; available for overnight stays if needed. Lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly and operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment. Valid driver's license required; forklift license preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
- Available for overnight stays if needed
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- High School diploma or equivalent experience required
- Valid drivers license is required
- Ability to bend
- Ability to squat
- Ability to demonstrate hand dexterity
- Ability to climb 6-13 feet

- Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintains proper condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred
- Forklift license preferred
- Associates degree preferred
