Job Summary
Service Technician at Sinclair Tractor responsible for independently performing complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned John Deere agricultural and turf equipment. Responsibilities include diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology, mentoring Service Technician Trainees and other technicians, participating in or supporting customer clinics, performing field diagnostics and repairs as required, managing billable time and work orders, thoroughly documenting diagnostics and repairs on work orders with timely submission, participating in Service EDUCATE training for skill development, operating and maintaining necessary vehicles and equipment, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety rules and regulations, staying current on John Deere and competitive products, and performing other duties as assigned by the manager. Must-have experience/education includes a High School Diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree in John Deere Ag Tech or related 2-year degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Travel as needed and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Office/work environment is a shop setting with variable shifts and extended hours; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree in John Deere Ag Tech or related 2-year degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
- Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work varying shifts, extended hours, and holidays
- Must have basic knowledge of equipment safety procedures
- Working Conditions & Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Travel as needed
