Job Summary
Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology, including field service as required. Mentor Service Technician Trainees and conduct or support customer clinics while maintaining complete documentation of all work orders. Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment, ensuring a clean and orderly workshop that adheres to all safety rules. Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders, while maintaining current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. This role involves standing for extended periods, lifting 75 pounds, and traveling as needed within the Fairfield, Iowa dealership network.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 75-pounds
- Must have basic knowledge of equipment safety procedures
- Ability to work varying shifts, extended hours, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in John Deere Ag Tech or related 2 year degree
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
- Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
