Job Summary
Repair machines to customer satisfaction in the field, shop, or customer location by removing, installing, and troubleshooting assigned equipment including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and electronic applications. Conduct machinery inspections, perform set-up and adjustments, and use SIS to order parts and research problems. Enter labor data, complete service and warranty reports, and utilize current service manuals to look up specs. Note: This position may include frequent auto travel, overnight trips, and weekend or evening work. A valid driver's license with a safe driving history is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license
- Annual verifiably safe driving history
- Diesel Technology Degree, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years' experience in an agriculture or diesel service technician role
- Prior experience in troubleshooting methods and tools
- Must provide personal tools for position
- Working knowledge of CLAAS parts
- Ability to safely operate large machinery
- Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to travel within assigned territory
- Must be able to work with limited supervision
- Must be self-sufficient with a proven ability to work independently
- Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Diesel Technology Degree preferred
- 2+ years' experience in an agriculture or diesel service technician role preferred
- Prior experience in troubleshooting methods and tools required
- Working knowledge of CLAAS parts, a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proven ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics
- Strong willingness to learn
- Farm background
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair customer machines in the shop or customer jobsites
- Experience using SIS to order parts, troubleshoot machine systems and research problems
- Experience conducting machinery inspections
- Experience with machinery set-up and adjustments
- Experience using laptop to enter labor data, complete service and warranty reports
- Experience utilizing current service manuals and parts books to look up specs and parts for repairs
