Job Summary
Service Technician role in Lae, Papua New Guinea, focusing on mechanical maintenance, commissioning, RCA troubleshooting, and providing technical feedback to improve Sandvik equipment performance. Responsibilities include safe work within a team, planning tools/parts, performing dyno tests and quality inspections, reporting maintenance activities, guiding junior members, and complying with EHS policies. Required Qualifications
- Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline with a minimum of 3 years’ post-trade experience
- Proven experience working across underground and surface/hard rock environments (essential)
- Experience with Sandvik equipment highly regarded
- Valid driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Strong commitment to EHS, with a clear focus on working safely at all times
- Well-developed customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative
- Comfortable using digital tools, mobile applications and systems
