Service Technician - Overhead Doors

Job Summary
Install, service, repair, and maintain overhead doors, rolling steel doors, dock equipment, and related hardware. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues; perform preventative maintenance inspections; and troubleshoot door operators, motors, controls, sensors, and safety devices. Replace or adjust springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, hinges, and seals. Respond to service calls, complete work orders and service reports, and communicate repair details and costs to customers. Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations while maintaining company vehicles, tools, and inventory. Participate in on-call or emergency service rotation. Full-time field role with overtime and after-hours work; competitive hourly wage with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs or more)
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an overhead door technician, garage door technician, or related mechanical trade
- Experience with commercial doors, dock levelers, and high-speed doors
- Electrical troubleshooting or low-voltage experience
- Welding or fabrication experience
- OSHA, lift, or safety certifications
- Manufacturer-specific certifications
