Job Summary
Conduct service work and install propane, refined fuel, and lubricant systems at company and customer locations, including tanks, pumps, regulators, and lines. Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and handle "out of gas" calls, including after-hours emergency service. Clean and maintain assigned equipment while safely operating vehicles with required CDL endorsements and conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, inventory, and customer documentation, including service logs, credit applications, and lease transfers. Deliver fuel and propane products as needed and communicate safety, efficiency, or training concerns directly to management. Work a rotating on-call schedule including holidays and weekends, adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training and/or experience in truck and equipment maintenance
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
- Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served
- Ability and willingness to become MFA Oil crane certified
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements
- Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking device
- Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Vision, hearing, speech and ability to detect odors
- Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
- Reliable transportation to work
- Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in English
- Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
