Job Summary
Service Technician at MFA Oil Company installs propane, refined fuel, and lubricant systems and performs service at company and customer locations. Responsibilities include installation of tanks and service of existing equipment, working solo or as part of a crew, after-hours emergency service, safety compliance, documenting work and inventories, and delivering products. Must operate company vehicle per policies, conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintain records for fixed assets and customer documentation, and communicate safety and operational feedback to management. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, readiness to obtain propane CETP and crane certifications, valid driver’s license with CDL within 90 days, ability to pass MFA Oil road tests and DOT requirements, English language proficiency, and the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, work outdoors, and handle rotating/on-call schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training and/or experience in truck and equipment maintenance
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
- Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served
- Ability and willingness to become MFA Oil crane certified
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment
- Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking device
- Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Vision, hearing, speech and ability to detect odors
- Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
- Reliable transportation to work
- Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
