Job Summary
Troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and repair heavy-duty trucks by diagnosing, adjusting, and modifying components as needed. Interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide repairs. Maintain safety conformity and regulations while documenting all actions taken. Interface positively with service writers, supervisors, parts departments, and customers. This full-time, non-exempt role requires a strong background in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, plus the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with diagnostic software like Cummins INSITE and specific truck models such as Kenworth and Peterbilt is highly desired.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a strong diesel engine, hydraulic and electrical background
- Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery
- Ability to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity
- Strong initiative required
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing DOT inspections is a plus
- Previous experience with Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks is a plus
- Experience with diagnostic software such as Cummins INSITE is highly desired
