Job Summary
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, and refrigeration commercial food equipment for customers on contract or time-and-material bases. Lead and execute advanced installations, turnkeys, and preventative maintenance while interpreting schematic diagrams and following safety protocols. Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, generating leads and supporting new product introductions. Maintain current industry knowledge and company assets including vehicle and tools. Perform routine on-site support with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 7+ years of food equipment service experience
- 4+ years of HVACR service experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Climb up to 10 ft with an A-frame ladder
- Occasional roof access through extension ladders or fixed ladders greater than 20 feet
- Extensive walking 3-5 miles / day
- Extensive driving 5-6 hours/day
- Ability to kneel, squat, bend, push/pull
- Move in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
- Operate machinery and/or power tools
- Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet dirty conditions
- Travel requirement up to 50% of time
- Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines
- Extended hours including nights and/or weekends
- Early mornings, evenings and/or weekends availability
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, and/or refrigeration (HVACR) aptitude
- Complex troubleshooting experience
- Ability to interpret and follow schematic diagrams
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of sequence of operations for multiple operating modes
- Knowledge of state specific and federal regulations related to combustion emissions
- Ability to read and understand safety guidelines of the business
- Ability to approach job responsibilities with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality
- Performs periodic visual safety inspections of vehicle and equipment
- Reports vehicle and tool defects
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of company products and services
- Completes required safety training
- Ability to read and interpret standard service manuals
- Mechanical diagrams understanding
- Parts stocking and identification methods, practices, and procedures
- Understanding basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculations of percentages, measurement conversions)
- Basic knowledge of / working knowledge of Windows applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel

- Routinely plans, leads, and executes complex technical projects including installations and turnkeys
- Diagnose and repair software errors, failures, and malfunctions in electronic food equipment
- Installs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, and/or refrigeration commercial food equipment
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, and/or refrigeration commercial food equipment for customers on contract and/or on time and material (i.e., T&M) basis
- Completes and documents preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, gas, and/or refrigeration commercial food equipment
- Implements and supports standard operating procedures outlined in Hobart Service safety manuals and programs
- Promotes branch and organization financial objectives by providing quality customer experience and generating leads
- Supports new product introduction

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or Vocational Certificate
- Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial cooking and/or refrigeration equipment
- Industry certification
- Accredited Certified Technician (CFESA / NATE / Hobart)
- EPA Certification
