Job Summary
Assist Service Technicians with preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and setup while learning hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting. Perform shop organization, cleaning, tool maintenance, and equipment washing. Support parts inventory, staging, and material movement. Complete assigned safety and technical training, follow all company safety policies, and maintain accurate service documentation. This internship develops skills in diagnostics and repairs for vehicle-mounted aerial lifts, digger derricks, and bucket trucks, offering a direct pathway into the Service Apprentice Program for students in diesel or heavy equipment technology programs.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited technical college or community college
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in Diesel Technology
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in Heavy Equipment Technology
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in Automotive Technology
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in Mechatronics
- Pursuing a degree or certificate in a related field
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Ability to work full-time during the summer
- Ability to work part-time during school breaks
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a shop environment
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of first year of technical program
- Basic hydraulic coursework
- Basic electrical coursework
- Welding coursework
- Experience using hand tools
- Experience using power tools
- OSHA 10 certification
