Job Summary
Part-time Service Technician Intern participates in on-the-job training assisting service technicians while pursuing a two-year associate degree through the John Deere TECH program. Upon graduation, aims to become certified in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISORTM. Responsibilities include supporting senior technicians, learning basic service tasks, removal/disassembly/reconditioning of components, potential pre-delivery set-up and inspection, accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds. The program combines instructor-led classroom and lab training with hands-on work at Sinclair Tractor dealerships and NICC in Calmar or Sigourney, IA, and emphasizes safety, knowledge of John Deere products, and ongoing skill development.
