Job Summary

Install and service commercial food equipment including ovens, refrigeration units, and kitchen exhaust systems on-site for Hobart Service customers. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults by interpreting schematic diagrams and following service manuals to complete repairs on a contract or time-and-material basis. Perform preventative maintenance, document work, and manage assigned tools and inventory while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and equipment capabilities.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
2-4 years of electrical and mechanical experience
High school diploma or GED and 0-2 years of HVACR service experience with an EPA certification
Vocational certificate in HVACR
Mechanical and electrical aptitude
Troubleshooting experience
Ability to interpret and follow schematic diagrams
Knowledge of sequence of operations for multiple operating modes
Ability to read and understand safety guidelines of the business
Ability to approach job responsibilities with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality
Ability to perform periodic visual safety inspections of vehicle and equipment
Ability to report vehicle and tool defects
Ability to take them out of service until repairs are made or items replaced
Ability to complete required safety training
Ability to read and interpret standard service manuals
Understanding of parts stocking and identification methods, practices, and procedures
Understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculations of percentages, measurement conversions)
Basic knowledge of / working knowledge of Windows applications
Basic knowledge of / working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
Ability to prioritize regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects
Ability to allocate time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame
Ability to communicate orally with individuals from within and outside the organization
Ability to self-motivate
Ability to take direction from senior technicians and management
Ability to thrive in multi-tasking environment
Ability to adjust priorities quickly
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance
