Job Summary
Float Service Technician role providing day-to-day maintenance support across multiple apartment communities with a home-base in Goleta. Responsibilities include assisting on-site technicians with repairs and turns of vacant units, handling fixtures, water leaks, electrical and plumbing tasks, mold cleanup, caulking, painting touch-ups, and other maintenance duties. Must diagnose, repair, and service units per company standards; maintain tools and workspace; follow safety procedures; communicate progress to residents and team; collaborate with the community manager to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness; participate in emergency after-hours on-call rotation; manage parts inventory and generate monthly inventory reports; deliver high-standard customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Maintenance experience in multi-property environments
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Strong safety knowledge aligned with OSHA/EPA policies
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to work orders promptly
- Excellent communication with residents, supervisors, and vendors
- On-call availability for after-hours rotation
