Job Summary
The Service Technician II maintains homes managed by FirstKey Homes by handling resident maintenance requests and performing repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general home systems. Tasks are carried out independently and in teams, traveling daily throughout the assigned market to execute service requests with company-provided tools and inventory. Duties emphasize safety and compliance with policies, codes, and regulations, identifying hazards, operating and maintaining tools, responding to residents professionally, prioritizing requests by urgency, conducting regular property inspections, performing routine and emergency maintenance, and managing fleet vehicles and equipment. The role requires extensive field-work, indoor/outdoor conditions, lifting heavy loads, and availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong background in residential construction, maintenance, and remodeling across multiple trades
- Experience performing repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, appliances, and general home infrastructure
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for extensive field travel
- Knowledge of building codes, municipal by-laws, inspections, estimating, and project planning
- Experience reading, writing, and evaluating project specifications and scopes of work
