Job Summary
The Service Technician II conducts resident maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems, performing routine and emergency repairs at homes managed by FirstKey Homes. The role travels within the assigned market to complete service requests using company tools and inventory, prioritizes urgent resident needs, conducts regular property inspections to implement preventive maintenance, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing multiple trades, operating tools safely, maintaining fleet equipment and supplies, delivering courteous customer service to residents, and collaborating with team members while adapting to varied indoor/outdoor conditions. The position requires strong safety awareness, problem-solving, and effective communication to document work orders and coordinate with residents and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong background in residential construction, maintenance, and remodeling across multiple trades
- Experience performing repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, appliances, and general home infrastructure
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Ability to read, write, and evaluate project specifications and scopes of work
- Knowledge of building codes, municipal by-laws, inspections, estimating, and project planning
- Experience using maintenance management software and mobile devices to document repairs and receive work orders
