Job Summary
Maintain the physical condition and appearance of an assigned community through routine maintenance, painting, cleaning, janitorial, and groundskeeping tasks. Identify and address problems by completing service requests for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other repairs in both vacant and occupied apartment homes. Respond to resident requests promptly while promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with operating standards. Routinely inspect grounds and buildings to identify maintenance projects, perform pressure washing, and replace light bulbs. Perform duties as assigned by the Service Manager, including preparing for community inspections and managing expense control.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience performing maintenance duties
- Multi-Family maintenance experience
- Ability to accurately take measurements and perform basic arithmetic
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment such as, but not limited to, leaf blowers, pressure washers, hand tools, power tools, transfer aids, snow and ice removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment, commercial vacuums, steam cleaners, other carpet and floor cleaning equipment, safety equipment, electric and hand-powered augers and others as needed
- Ability to use general office equipment such as key system programmers and software, app-based software, and personal computer
- Ability to safely use chemicals, paint, and general cleaning supplies
- Ability to frequently and safely operate motorized vehicles such as a golf cart
