Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and modify commercial mechanical equipment including refrigeration, HVAC, ventilation systems, and commercial food service equipment. Read technical drawings and schematics to diagnose complex problems, then safely operate vehicles and power tools to execute repairs at job sites. Maintain parts inventory, record work progress via computerized systems, and collect customer payments. Work independently with occasional team support, adhering to safety standards and non-standard schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of related refrigeration/HVAC experience
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid class D driver's license and commercial insurability
- Ability to travel between job sites and work locations 100% of the time
- Ability to work a non-standard schedule including emergency on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to exchange accurate information through oral and written communication
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to observe details at close range, distance range, peripherally and with the ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications
- Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship
- Two-years of related refrigeration/HVAC experience
- Federal Medical Card to transport large commercial trailers
- Ability to maintain a stationary position for 2-4 hours while traveling between jobsites
- Ability to continually walk inside and outside jobsites and other work locations
- Ability to frequently operate a commercial vehicle, power tools, and a mobile device
- Ability to frequently ascend/descend stairs and ladders to access all areas of equipment and jobsites including rooftops
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop and access small, confined spaces
- Ability to frequently communicate with internal and external customers using spoken word
- Ability to perceive the natural sounds of normal speaking levels
- Ability to make fine discriminations in sound
- Ability to utilize visual acuity to operate vehicles, power tools & equipment and read technical information
- Ability to frequently utilize visual acuity to operate vehicles, power tools & equipment and read technical information
- Ability to frequently work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to be frequently exposed to loud noise and vibration consistent with use of power tools and equipment
