Job Summary
A Service Technician will perform mid-level and advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on farm equipment to fulfill customer’s satisfaction. The role requires inspecting mechanical defects, navigating vendors and manuals to determine repairs, analyzing manuals and regulations, and carrying out repairs on diesel engine hydraulics, AC, electrical, suspension, drive trains, and material handling systems. The technician will perform maintenance, update customers on prices and timeframes, operate power tools and heavy equipment, receive tickets from the Service Manager, document repairs, coordinate parts, maintain a clean work area, complete training, and stay up-to-date on equipment and industry upgrades. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and delivering quality service within company standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience as a Diesel/Heavy Equipment Tech.
- Heavy Equipment or Diesel Tech. degree preferred, but not required.
- Agriculture experience preferred, but not required
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Experience navigating a computer.
- Possess a willingness to teach
- Possess first-rate time management and self-motivation
- Able and willing to work in a team setting
- Ability to apply logic and critical thinking to solve problems.
- Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal forms with co-workers and customers.
- Possess advanced mechanical knowledge.
