Job Summary
Service Technician for Generac standby power systems. Travel to customers’ residences using company vehicle to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on home standby generators. Read and apply technical manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; document services in electronic software; communicate with customers about arrivals, issues resolved, and work performed. Must adhere to safety practices; position typically Mon-Fri 8 AM–5 PM with weather-related adjustments. Pay level commensurate with experience; starting pay discussed based on electrical/mechanical repair knowledge and customer-facing experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory driving record
- Experience with mechanical small engine repair work and with electrical wiring
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints and schematics
- Be physically able to perform job duties including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping, and walking on uneven surfaces
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Electrical certification a plus
