Job Summary
The Service Technician will perform general and preventive maintenance for multifamily residential properties, preparing vacant apartments for move-in, completing maintenance work orders within 2 business days, and documenting work in the property management system. Responsibilities include maintaining property grounds and common areas, servicing pools, spas, and fitness areas, and supporting curb appeal through exterior upkeep. Troubleshooting and basic-to-intermediate repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, and general mechanical systems, proactively identifying maintenance needs, and escalating as appropriate. Adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and compliance with Fair Housing regulations and building codes is required. The role supports the Service Manager and Community Manager with project planning, unit turnovers, and vendor coordination, participates in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations, and contributes to process improvements and property performance goals. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, with experience in maintenance within multifamily, hospitality, or facilities management preferred; EPA HVAC certification is required and CPO certification is preferred. Must be dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team, with proficiency in mobile work order systems and the ability to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
